Friars can always find something brewing at the Friars Club be it a meal, a drink, a show–and always a good time. Comedy, music, even drama is presented at the Monastery in theater-like settings and cocktail party gatherings. Be it a comedy show in prime time or an after hours comedy club experience in the Milton Berle Room, the laughs are always in vogue. Music is often the order of the night, as singers from all genres and at all stages of their careers entertain Friar audiences. Jazz nights and Thursday Night Café in the Lucille Ball Room are seasoned winners at the Monastery while a salute to a major musical maven in the Frank Sinatra Dining Room is a hit in any season.
Friar authors get a lot of attention at Book Warmings, celebrating their latest tomes with toasts and touching/funny commentaries by themselves and their peers. Seminars on a variety of topics with key people on the panels keep Friars informed while play readings become a very special night at the theater for those who love to hear incredible dialogue by talented stars. |
